James has a passion for exploring human struggles through history, and
mythology for inspiration in his work. A versatile creative, James finds the
best way to use medium to describe the subject and illustrate meaning,
not to simplify but to clarify and make the concept relatable by the audience.

James is a self-employed artist and illustrator. He has lived in Colchester most of his life but found a passion for creating whilst living away from the city. His artwork is inspired by history, nature and the fiction that inspires him.

James has a passion for exploring mythology and human struggles throughout our history. He takes great joy in exploring narrative and being inspired by history, always seeking inspiration from human tragedy and moments of hope.

James works with different mediums including oil paints, ink and wash, and digital artwork. His practice has recently expanded to include linoleum printing and pyrography.
